Sometimes I come across old pictures (or old emails, or old fill-in-the-blank) and a wave of nostalgia washes over me.
Okay, okay, it's not always a wave of nostalgia, like I get swept off my feet and washed out to sea. But it's fun regardless.
These pictures are from the pre-historic days of 2009, when I spent a month in Salt Lake City with our family friends, Mr. and Mrs. B. who are some of the most amazing, Godly, real people I have ever known.
That month was such a wonderful experience - getting to be a part of their lives, the everyday stuff, the ministry stuff...
Without further ado, here are a few pictures.
Doing a Bible study with Yumi, an exchange student
Stranger on the Road to Emmaus. You guys, this book is seriously amazing. So straightforward, so clear on the Gospel, so easy to read. (Side note: I can now say I've gone through the whole thing in three languages. :))
Playing Quiddler
I don't remember anything about the game except that it was super fun. Oh, that and I won most of the rounds. Which Josh didn't like.
Doing dishes
(Side note: Hey, look, is that a dishwasher? It's been ages since I've used one. Or even seen one.)
In the office of a TV station
Mr. and Mrs. B volunteered each week for a program that was started to give a Biblical perspective on polygamy (remember, this was Utah) and fundamentalism, and to help those wanting to escape from such groups.
Answering a call
Writing down the caller's question
On the set (after the show)
At the airport, ready-but-not-ready to fly back to CA after a wonderful month
Treasured memories. :)
