On a normal day at the language center, you'd find a group of us eating lunch together.
The faces changed somewhat from day to day, but a few things remained constant: bowls of rice (prepared in various ways by a lady just around the corner), Angèle's juices, and good conversations.
It was usually a mix of French and English. We'd talk about class activities, our childhoods, cross-cultural ministry, church history, books, movies, food...
Such fun times.
Two girls to a bowl. 'Cause that's how we roll. There was just way too much food for any of us girls to finish a whole bowl ourselves, so we'd share. (I know. Genius.) Andrew would look at us and shake his head at how we could possibly split a single bowl two or even three ways. We'd look at him and shake our heads at how he could possibly eat a whole bowl and still be hungry.
Cheers!
Three people were offering to take a picture for me at that point, and I was like, "I only need one person to take a picture!"
Thus the funny expression on my face and Michi in the process of sitting back down.
Because it was my last week...and because Jen and Susie were flying out soon...and I don't remember what other excuses we came up with...we decided to splurge and get a cake from the bakery across the street. We each took a corner and worked our way towards the middle - but we didn't end up being able to finish it all in one sitting.
To friends!
