The first night, we camped about a 50-minute drive from the Grand Canyon. We decided it would be cool to watch the sunrise there the next morning.
Which meant getting up at 3:30.
We took down the tent in the early morning darkness, repacked everything in Abigail's car, and set off.
We made it to the parking lot at 5:17 - four minutes before sunrise. We all jumped out of the car and started sprinting up the trail. Thankfully the canyon rim was a lot closer than we expected, and all at once we found ourselves staring down at the Grand Canyon.
It took my breath away.
And to think, the God who made all that is the same God who takes care of me today.

Back on the road -
That night we stayed with Abigail's grandma. Real beds! And lots of food. So. much. food.
The adventure continued the next day...
