Two dear friends prayed these things for me:
"Lord, I pray that she would be resting comfortably in Your arms."
"Lord, help her embrace the pain."
Those simple prayers are branded on my heart and they've been coming to mind a lot the past week or so. Interesting, isn't it - we really can't rest comfortably in His arms unless we're willing to embrace the pain. So we can have His arms along with the pain, or we can fight the trials and miss the blessing of knowing Him better.
So Lord, please give me grace to embrace whatever You send me.
