Ever have to give yourself a good talking-to?

I do from time to time.

When I'm facing a situation that seems overwhelming...unsure of how it will pan out, yet knowing at the same time that I'm standing at the edge of something big God wants to do, I have to tell myself...

It's worth it.  Don't panic or run the other way.  Don't fight what He wants to do in your life...or in the lives of those around you.  It might not "feel" good, and that's okay.  Grace brings freedom, but grace is often painful.  Embrace the pain.  Embrace the loving Father who allows that, not as a cruel experiment to see your reaction, but to help you know Him better.  Don't look (or pray) for the easy way out - for yourself or for others - and risk missing what He wants to teach you.  Trust Him to bring you through everything He brings you to.  And remember that sometimes the greatest miracles, the greatest growth, come through our biggest trials and impossibilities.  You've seen Him change your life by His grace, and yes, it was often uncomfortable.  But it was entirely worth it!  Trust Him to continue that in you on a deeper level.  Trust Him to do that in others in a bigger way than you could have ever thought to ask for.

Trust Him.  Cling to Him.  Rest completely in His love.

"If God had suddenly shown us everything He was going to do
in the years to come, I would have said,
'Wait a minute, You've got the wrong man...!'
But God inched up the curtain just a little bit at a time and said,
'Take a look and take a step.'"
